Pula Marathon
Running through the streets of Pula as the evening falls and ultimately finishing in a very special place: right in the middle of the famous Pula Arena. The Pula Marathon is a sporting event with a great atmosphere every year in September.
Don't be intimidated by the name 'marathon'. You don't have to be an experienced marathon runner to participate. During the 2026 edition, participants could choose from different distances: a run of 5.99 kilometers, 10 kilometers, or a half marathon of 21 kilometers. There were also activities for children and Nordic Walking.
An evening full of atmosphere in Pula
What makes the Pula Marathon extra fun is that the main races are run in the evening. The route goes through Pula and finishes in the historic Arena. Spectators line the course to cheer on the runners and the evening ends with a celebration.
In 2026, there were more than 2,500 participants from over 40 countries at the start. You can safely say that Pula is completely focused on running during this weekend.
Participate in the Pula Marathon yourself?
You can! You don't have to be a professional runner. You register in advance with the organization and choose the distance that suits you. Especially the shorter distance makes the event also fun for vacationers who regularly run and want to experience something special during their stay.
