Do you annoy all the people back home with your holiday photos or do you only think about your 'selfie'?
Gastronomic irritation
The region of Istria is known for its delicious dishes and pure ingredients. Ideally, you would like to immortalise the magnificent Croatian specialities like fresh fish, truffles, homemade pasta and olives. Yet chances are that your snapshots from the gastronomic paradise will provoke irritation when you post them on social media. Indeed, twenty-four per cent of those surveyed are annoyed by 'pictures of food'. In second place in the list of irritating holiday photos are the so-called 'hot dog legs'. You know the ones. The tanned thighs against a background of an enviable Adriatic coast, a lovely beach or a bright sun. Women in particular dislike these photos, with some twenty-six per cent finding such portraits completely unnecessary. But the annoyances continue. We also seriously resent yoga poses, jumping photos and photos of other people's alcoholic drinks.
Erasing nothing from digital memory
So does that mean you should stop sharing holiday photos altogether? Thankfully, no. Of over a thousand people surveyed, almost a third said they are not annoyed by holiday photos anyway. Instead, they enjoy seeing their friends' relaxed snapshots. Especially beautiful shots of nature, culture and special places do well. So save your digital memory for unique trips to, say, the Plitvice Lakes or to one of the picturesque fishing villages nearby and just save the overnight-oats breakfast for your photo book*
